The stable is a Vue d'Esprit 4 .vob object. It has a wooden texture, with green wood doors. There are double doors and two windows, one above the doors, and one in the side wall.
All the parts are individually named within the object group, and can be manipulated individually. The doors may be opened by rotating them one by one, and then moving them forward and towards the side of the doorframe, till they are correctly positioned in the opening.
Through the open door, the stall dividers can be seen. There are two dividers, giving three stalls. The floor inside has a grass texture, but that may be changed by the user to wood or whatever is desired. The side wall window is above the stall nearest to the door.
There is room inside the stable for a cart, or other equipment, or the dividers could be copied and pasted to make a row of stalls down the opposite side of the stable. The user can change the shape or layout of the building, the size and number of stalls etc., very easily.
The camera may be placed inside the stable for interior images. The stable should then be enlarged quite a lot, so that the camera inside can cover more of the interior without using too wide an angle for the focus, which can distort the image. When it is enlarged globally, it is often necessary to raise the object in the image, because the lower part may go below ground level. But the stable can also be enlarged in any direction - you can make it longer, wider or higher instead of just making it proportionally bigger.
In this picture the centre stall is showing. The sun is coming through the window above the first stall at an angle, and falling on the divider between second and third.
This shows the window above the door and the roof rafters. All of these small pictures are lit only by the sun and daylight coming through the windows, and in the one below, windows and door. The exposure slider was taken a little towards bright in the light section of the atmosphere editor, and that was all that was needed. There is no light inside the building.
This final small picture shows both windows, and the doors ajar, from the inside, with the sun pointing directly at the doors. I used a very wide angle camera here to get the full height of the building in the image, and that has caused the walls to slope inwards, and there is extreme distortion of the second stall divider, which is barely recognisable for what it is in the right foreground.
THE MANGER
The manger is a separate downloadable Vue 4 object. It can be used in the stable if required. Like the stable it can be stretched in any direction to change the size and/or proportions. But it is not recommended that you move the individual components of the manger separately, because it can be very difficult to get them back into place in Vue.
I found that realistic hay can be made by putting Vue d'Esprit long grass in it. (This is one of the extra vegetations available for Vue 4)
In the picture below, you can see the stable and manger both used, with volumetric light effects through the window above the stall. In this picture I put a point light inside the stable, too, to help to light the horses.
